Class Descriptions

Yoga
Our heated Vinyasa Power Yoga flow is inspired by the Baptiste Yoga Methodology and is unlike any class you have ever taken in your life. This class will wake you up, challenge and empower you.  It begins with an integrating flow, twists, balancing postures, heart openers and a core blast. Class cools down with rejuvenation, release & hip opening postures and ends with a 5 minute savasana (at least). Our room is free of music and mirrors so you can get the full experience of the practice. Each time you hit your mat you will journey into your personal power and feel energized and free. You will breath. You will sweat. You will light up.  All levels of experience are welcome!

Y.O.D. (Yoga + HIIT)
YOD was created and developed right here at Minnesota Power Yoga and is expanding around the country. YOD (pronounced like squad) is intentional exercise meaning that each movement, breath and exercise is focused on your alignment, health and happiness. In YOD we don’t use any props: we use a heated room, a yoga mat and your bare feet! This combination is simple and magical. You get the yoga-vibes combined with a HIIT sweaty workout and finish with a juicy cool down.  You’ll leave this class with brighter eyes, ready to live life to the fullest!

Here’s the breakdown:

  • 20 minute Yoga warm-up
  • Integration movements to plug into our bodies and alignment
  • HIIT Portion
  • Cool-Down

Yoga Beats
Formatted just like our classic Yoga classes, this is heated and powerful flow set to some tunes! Each one of our teachers has a unique taste in music so you get a little bit of everything.  Check out Thursday’s at 6:15pm-it’s Throwback Thursday Jams!

Slow Flow
We all deserve to slow down and rest. At MPY, we believe that balance is the key to a happy life. Consider this class your balance to your YOD workout, your active rest day and your restoration hour. You will move through an integrating flow, some standing poses, grounding poses, and some core strengthening. Half way through, you’ll transition to stretching, restoring, and relaxing. You will walk away feeling lighter, brighter and more peaceful. The perfect class for beginners, advanced yogi’s and those days that you just need to take some deep breaths, stretch and sit by candlelight.

New Teacher Class- $5
This class is taught by new yoga teachers who have recently completed and their 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training certification here at Minnesota Power Yoga! They are eager to lead you through our classic Yoga vinyasa flow and share their love of yoga. Plus, class is only $5! All proceeds go towards Africa Yoga Project.
